Our History In 1996, Todd Jersey, Principal of Todd Jersey Architecture (a leading green architecture firm) and Sam Kingore put their commitment to the health of our environment and the education of our children into action by creating The Living Laboratories Project (Living Labs). Living Labs gave them a way to donate environmental design services and project management skills to schools that wanted kids to learn about nature through first-hand experience. For over ten years Living Labs operated as a community service project of Todd Jersey Architecture. In 2009 Todd and new Director Trey Farmer decided to reincarnate Living Labs and take things to the next level. In early 2010, we became a project of The Earth Island Institute, the renowned Berkeley-based activist incubator that has helped organizations like Rainforest Action Network and International Rivers to success. Living Labs Project now operates three distinct programs and is working with many schools and their communities in the East Bay. Please contact us if you would like to be a part of this great work. |
